I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. In the first book of the series, Charming the Highlander, Michael MacBain was the odd one out from the surviving highlanders sent forward through time by the druid priest. After falling in love with Mary Sutter, he loses her due to a car accident, but their child survives, and he becomes a single parent who keeps to himself. I'm glad there is a happy ending for him in this book. It also gives the readers an advanced insight to the childhood of Robbie MacBain and what he is all about and what he is meant to do. It was touching to realize that Robbie's dead mother continues to watch over Robbie and Michael. It's interesting to see that the MacKeage have in some way allowed Michael MacBain into their lives, if only because of Robbie's relation to Greylen MacKeage's wife. The author has weaved a magic in this series that I find captivating without being too supernatural like.

Another fantasy of warriors who came forward in time to protect, live, fall in love and create chaos and magic for all who love them. I suspect this story introduces the next generation of love and magic in Robbie and the children he protects.

A delightful fantasy
The author has it all in this book. Education, love,happiness,and fear. Love reading them because I never know what's going to happen next!! Very intriguing
If you like Scottish romance with a touch of magic, you will enjoy Janet Chapman's
Pine Creek Highlanders Series. The characters are well developed and entertaining,
pulling on your heartstrings one minute and even offering a few belly laughs along the
way too.
I can't tell you how many times I have review this series by Janet. But I can tell you I have read all many times. I have the only two that come in audio and listen to them often. This whole Highlander series would make the most fantastic movies... Come on Ron Howard these are a win win!!!
Another fun adventure where you are swept away to a beautiful mountain paradise with exciting characters, fun, magical, and intriguing storyline. There is the romance with an intelligent woman who is dedicated to her goal and a man who is a bit mystical, mysterious, and wise beyond his years. When they meet the sparks start flying.
I read each and every book from this series in order and nonstop. OMG...What an amazing experience Granted there were some characters that I loved thoughout the series. One of the things that most impressed me is we really get to see the happily ever after throughout the series.

If you have the money and can afford to buy the whole set, that is the experience that you are shooting for from this author. Chapman is creative funny, and sincere with these characters and you feel the love between main players as well as the family they have around them. After all those books I was still left wanting more.

I passed my set to my sister. She calls me at the end of each one to discuss the new characters, the new dynamic they'll create in future novels in the series.

Truly a fun read. The best read since my first historical romance (Knight in Shining Armor).
This series of books by Janet Chapman are wonderful. This is the second time i have read them.. this story is how you can love more than once in a life time. Find happiness, an love and magic. And how family can come together and share the their happiness. This series is about magic, family and love and keeping a family tightly together, share heartbreak, love for each other. Out of this series this is my favorite one. Michael love for his son, and never given up on life. you'll enjoy this book and the series there are 8 books. read and enjoy the magic...
