Bishop Sheen is such an inspirational writer (and spokesman). I wish I could have seen and heard his television programming, but text is the next best thing.
This is a must have book for anyone seeking to deepen his/her spiritual experience. Archbishop Fulton Sheen 's writing is clear and precise and is a practical guide for transcending the mundane and worldly to arrive at the divine spark in us all.
Each word is a meal, complete with dessert. Not as folksy like Bishop Sheen when he gave his homilies on TV and radio in the past, this is deep thinking for serious thought. What a wonderful philosopher that was alive until recently and was credited with millions who converted to the Catholic faith in the 1940-1960 era. He has been venerated rightfully so and is a candidate for sainthood and a true doctor of the church. This is not about being Catholic per se, it is about trying to be about "us" and not "me" and the wonderful opportunities we have to give the love that Jesus taught about.
It took me 11 years to really pick this book up and read it after it was given to me as a gift. I am sorry it took me that long as it was a wonderful book that helped guide me to a more peaceful state spiritually. I would definitely recommend to anyone searching for spiritual growth and contentment.
